One of my best friends helped steer me in the right direction to make the space a bit more personal. I ordered the flowers from Bloom & Wild (the Harper Lux), the gold fringed photo wall from Party Delights and the balloons from Not On The High Street (they’re Meri Meri).
When I started thinking about what I wanted to wear I was sure it was a playsuit and probably an item I wanted to splash out on and go designer. I tried tens of them!I was really hopeful about the W118 by Walter Baker Gabby satin playsuit but it didn’t sit right on my tummy at all and gaped at the chest. I tried this black DvF Emerson playsuit too but again, the tummy band made it unflattering. It was really lovely though and is in the Matches sale if you have a less thick waist than me.
I gave up on playsuits and these two dresses were the final contenders. The gold got lots of Instgram thumbs up!In the end, it was too hot for the sequins and true to my High Street roots, I wore a dress from ASOS I got for £11. ASOS dress, Kat Maconie heels, metallic clutch from Warehouse, J Crew gold and black tassel earrings from the lovely ShoeQueen79. I changed into trainers when I hit the dance floor! Me and the marvellous Rachel WornOut. My other WornOut lovelies were there too but we were having too much fun to take photos!
I did splash out on some new make up. I am no make up expert but wow, this Tom Ford eye pallet is truly beautiful.I had a trial in a store so that I had an idea of how to blend the colours. I treated myself to the Tom Ford eye primer too. The rest of my makeup is my usual stuff, Chanel foundation, Guerlain Terracotta bronzer (I wear shade 3), Mac highlighter, Body Shop pink blusher, Charlotte Tilbury eyebrow pencil and By Terry Baume du Rose lipbalm instead of lippy.
We are having a quiet week in preparation for more partying in Italia.
Will be back soon.
