Green polyester

I usually avoid synthetic fibres at all costs, especially nasty, yucky, polyester. However gorgeous that Zara top is, I don’t give it a second glance.

But…….welI, I was seduced by the H&M Sustainable collection in early spring. The prints were just beautiful and I adore the colour green.

These trousers are made of recycled polyester, which is considered a green(er) option in textiles. Super comfy and flaterring, they’re still available in a size 6-8 (my size) in the sale. Worn here with a Primark vest and Cos necklace. Perfect for chillaxing in the garden with my babies.

Oh we do like to be beside the seaside

After a few days of post holiday running around we spent a few days with family by the seaside. Not quite the sunny weather and beautiful blue seas from last week but hey. And a belated Easter Egg Hunt for le bambine too.

Hope everyone has a happy end of Easter holiday weekend!

The sun is out

Thank the lord.  I do find February a very trying month and am always so glad when we get to March and the days get longer and I don’t have to wear 25 layers all the time.

Have had a busy few days and actually went out for 2 consecutive nights and totally omitted to take photos – ooops.

I’ve also recently had a good look around Primark and New Look and picked up a few bargains.  Firstly these canvas hi-tops for my daughter – I think they were about £4 from Primark and fit her well.

I grabbed this bikini in Primark for myself as will be great for sunbathing in the garden and on our holiday in Wales [deluded].

And yes it was £4 and how similar to this  Odabash one

I then grabbed a couple of scarves in New Look because I am sick of my expensive scarves snagging on everything

I particularly loved the tie-dye one as it reminded me of the print of this dress which I love, love, love!

Which reminds me I have a stack of things to ebay to see if I can then buy this dress.

Anyway as the sun is out I’m wearing a linen shirt albeit with a vest underneath.  The shirt was from Jigsaw in the sale, the jeans are the River Island Amelies which I really think are comparable to premium denim and the earrings are Next.

Let the party commence….

Saturday 1st December and for me it was the first Christmas bash of the season. It was freezing here on Saturday night which actually only added to my  festive mood so I really went all out for a wintery (for which read: furry) and  glitzy (for which read: pile on the bling) party look.

Last time I posted with a selection of outfits, it did make me acutely aware that perhaps I have become a bit of a formulaic dresser. I think we all do this to a greater or lesser degree – I mean, we all know the shapes that suit us or that we feel most comfortable in and I guess we tend to stick to them but, even so, I decided to make a real effort this week to break out of the skinny jeans and leggings that are my mainstay and bare my knees.  However, this has only served to highlight to me that my skirts options are just as formulaic in their own way as my trousers  – short-ish flared skater skirts anyone?!  But still, at least I tried….and I did at least add a bit of colour in there!

Okay, so this one wasn’t a skater style skirt…..

This was actually today’s outfit for a long leisurely Sunday lunch at a friend’s house with another close friend  and all our families…. I did think maybe the leather dress teamed with knee high leather boots was a bit much for lunchtime but I think I got away with it. Certainly my husband, always one to err on the side of caution and temper the worst of my sartorial excesses pronounced it to be fine for daywear.

Sarah and I love stars.  She is a first class fashion fairy and texted me a photo from Primark the other evening with this starry sweater.  It is lovely and soft.  I have had it two days and worn it both which says something about how comfortable it is.  It probably also says something about me, a wardrobe with sumptuous cashmere and I choose the Primarni polyester!
