J’Adore J Crew

I do.  I really do.  And I know I’ve mentioned that about a million times before but their clothes are just so me.  And their sales are fantastic – I got a great dress for just over £30 recently

Now I wear it with a skinny belt sort of round my hips so it has a similar shape to this dress

This is a great shape for dresses if you don’t have much of a waist but pretty difficult to find in the shops.  Now if only they did a navy version.

But back to J Crew, there are 3 things I currently am obsessing over.  To begin with this necklace which would just go with so much of my existing wardrobe

It looks so pretty with the cream jumper but would also lift one of the may stripey tops I have too.  And if anyone is looking for a ‘breton’ I’d recommend the Johnnie B ones from Boden.

Then this navy sweatshirt looks very nice and would get a lot of wear from me

But the top I really want is this grey one

I just can’t decide if the dark grey or light grey would be best.  Decisions, decisions.

So I just really need a code now so that I can justify one of the purchases at least.

I mentioned yesterday that I had a parcel waiting with a neighbour.  Well it came but its not for me.  Why is it that some clothes shops just never ever work on me?  Zara coats always fit well but Massimo Dutti – just no.  Oh well, I know Emma and Belinda were also rather taken with it so hope it fits them better.

Finally, today I’m wearing old Virginie Castaway top and Zara jeans

And here’s another outfit  from last week too

Topshop baxters, Hasbeens and Gap starry jumper – a very recent buy.

Back to Black

It must be something about the gloomy skies – like Jasmine, I’m back in black too.
Yesterday I wore my Zara drape fronted trousers with a black H&M vest under the black Ikat vest I mentioned the other day (again knotted at the back) with an old Gap black blazer, old See by Chloe black bag with gold hardware, £5 H&M fluro watch and fluro belt worn as a wristband both from the kids’ section, black Rayban Cats 5000 and a dull gold angel necklace from Little Legs. I added black Sam Edelman Gigis and a Mint Velvet scarf to go out.
I always wear sunnies but don’t usually photograph myself in them. I just happened to run up to the room with the mirror the last minute (I’m not that much of a poser).
I wanted to say thank you for all the lovely messages about my mum. We won’t know what happens next for another week but she is doing well and we all continue to laugh and smile as often as possible.

Spotty trousers

They possibly fall into the ‘fun’ trouser category, but I love them. A spotty print always makes me feel happy and the fit of these is super flaterring. They look better worn with sandals but it’s still a bit nippy in the mornings and I’m a wuss.

Spotty trews

I’ve got the Serena wedge sandals on order and looking forward to wearing with those.

Trousers – H&M, Top – Gap (old), Necklaces -Karma, Trench – Burberry, Boots – Rag & Bone Newburys

Navy and mint

I wear a lot of navy, an awful lot. I used to wear a lot of black but unless its for going out, I just don’t think it does me any favours in daylight.   And with navy I love mint green.  I have a yen for these Paige Kylie jeans

But I don’t know, past experience has shown that pale jeans do my thighs no favours.  I find them more unflattering than white jeans, am I alone in this I wonder?  But those jeans would look so nice with the Dune wedge giraffe sandals that I am still obsessing over, and my navy Tippi J Crew jumper.   See how I’m thinking jumpers because its still rather chilly out.

When I was looking at sandals in TopShop I saw a lovely lemon jumper but the fabric was very synthetic and I suspect would not have washed well.  Yes, I have turned into my mother.  But I do rather fancy something in primrose as again it looks lovely with navy and also white.   A quick search produced this pretty jumper from Pure Collection which I have pinned in anticipation of the sales

I also saw WIT posted a photo on twitter of her wearing this top

I’d wish listed this a while back and of course now its out of stock in my size, I really, really want it.  Honestly I am a marketer’s dream – show it to me and then dangle out of my reach and oh how I desire it.

And my final wish list item is this bracelet I saw on the Pink Peonies blog

The price is fairly reasonable I think but I do wish Stella & Dot did the occasional code.

And finally, today I am wearing

Many, many layers.  River Island Amelie, Beige Pistols (bargain from Outnet last year), Gap jumper, Farhi linen biker and Lily & Lionel bloom scarf.

Paint the town grey

I don’t need more jeans but I am trying to stop wearing my ripped jeans every day and these grabbed me the moment I saw them.
They’re described as “always skinny” but I think they’re more of a straight almost boyfriend fit.
20130508-094517.jpgThe paint splatter is lovely. I’m looking forward to wearing them with some of my smarter tops to make them feel less prim and more me.

Today I am wearing them with a grey Gap tshirt (I wear these basic ones which are a very good fit on larger chests), H&M neon knit, Gap grey leather scrunched ballet flats, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag. Unfortunately I don’t have a photo of my whole outfit as La Bambina photo bombed the only one I took and I don’t want to share her beautiful face with the world.
You can see the actual colours better in my own photo – the trim is a bright pale blue.
Have a good Wednesday.
